Fabric Guide: Learn More About the Materials Used in Koro Jumpers:
🧵 TL;DR – Quick Fabric Guide
Not sure which Koro jumper fabric to pick? Here’s a quick rundown:
-
Halo – Thinnest and stretchiest. Great for layering or dogs new to wearing clothes.
-
Fleece – Mid-level warmth and medium stretch. Perfect for everyday use in fall or spring.
-
Teddy – The warmest option. Comes in several types:
-
Pattern → Light & very stretchy
-
Ecru → Super soft & cozy
-
Solid → Thick & warm
-
Sherpa → Firm with Velcro closure
-
💡 Rule of thumb: The stretchier the fabric, the easier it is to put on.
🌧️ Note: Teddy fabrics are not suitable for rain.
Fleece
Fleece is our mid-level fabric when it comes to warmth. Most of our fleece fabrics have a loose to medium stretch and come in around 200g/m² thickness.
Made from 100% polyester, fleece is a soft and lightweight fabric that retains warmth exceptionally well.
A few exceptions in our collection are the yellow and plaid fleece fabrics, which are thicker:
-
Yellow (Call Me Solar) - 270g/m²
-
Plaid (Call Me Runi) - 300g/m²
The Call Me Runi plaid fabric has less stretch, which means that although it’s warmer than other fleece jumpers, it can be slightly more difficult to put on and take off. This is something to keep in mind when choosing your size and fit.
Teddy
The warmest fabric in our collection - Teddy - is also made from 100% polyester, but it’s significantly thicker than fleece. Teddy fabrics range from 250g/m² to 350g/m² in weight.
Not all Teddy fabrics are the same; we categorize them into solid color, pattern, ecru, and sherpa types.
Solid Color Teddy
Our solid color teddy fabrics are the midpoint of the Teddy range - thicker than fleece but not overly bulky. They have a comfortable stretch and weigh around 350g/m², offering excellent warmth for colder weather.
Pattern Teddy
Patterned Teddy fabrics are either embroidered or printed. They’re lighter and stretchier than solid teddies, with a weight range of 225g/m²–250g/m². This type is great for dogs who are new to wearing clothes - soft, stretchy, and warm.
However, like all teddy fabrics, they’re not suitable for rainy weather.
Ecru Teddy
Our Ecru Teddy (Call Me Auri) is the softest fabric in the Teddy line. It has a unique curl pattern and a smooth fleece-like lining inside for extra warmth.
Weighing 350g/m² and offering high stretch, it’s soft, cozy, and very comfortable to wear.
Sherpa Teddy
Sherpa Teddy also weighs around 350g/m², but it has very little stretch. Because of this, we can’t create pull-over jumpers with this fabric — items made from Sherpa Teddy include an opening with a Velcro closure for easier dressing.
Important note:
Due to its fluffy texture, Teddy fabric dries more slowly and tends to absorb water, making it unsuitable for wet weather.
If you choose a jumper with long legs, keep in mind that when wet, the fabric can become heavy and pull the jumper down, which could cause tripping.
If you can’t decide which Teddy to choose, here’s a quick rule of thumb:
The stretchier the fabric, the easier it is to put on and take off.
Ease of use (from easiest to hardest):
Pattern → Ecru → Solid → Sherpa
All Teddy jumpers are very warm, so pick the one that you find most comfortable to handle and your dog will love to wear.
Halo
Just like our other fabrics, Halo is made from 100% polyester, but it offers the most stretch of them all - perfect for dogs who are new to wearing clothes. It’s a great introductory piece.
Halo jumpers are the thinnest in our collection, with a weight of 200g/m². Most Halo fabrics have a thin fleece-like lining on the inside for extra warmth (with a few exceptions, such as Call Me Splash and Call Me Jade).
These pieces are ideal for layering during winter, or wearing on their own in fall, spring, or cooler summer evenings.
